Christmas the jolliest time of the year! A perfect time to get together and create memories that will last a lifetime. There is nothing more special than DIY decorations & presents that money can simply not buy.

      1. Advent Calendar Tree

All you need is some plywood, small tin cans, a hot glue gun and of course the goodies. Simply cut out a Christmas tree shape from the plywood (painting optional), glue the tin cans to the play wood. 6 on the bottom row 5 on the next and so on (to make 25 days). Then fill the tins with goodies.

2. Christmas Gnomes

All that is required is a few bottles, Christmas coloured fabrics and some cushion filling. Dress the bottles with the fabric and you have an awesome little helper decoration.

3. Hanging Snowflakes

Grab yourself some white paper fold into a triangle, then fold again into a smaller triangle. Then fold this in thirds, creasing the corners in toward each other and overlapping them. Cut this into various shapes and unfold. Then with clear tape stick your snowflakes onto a long piece of clear thread and create a garland. Tape the garland to your walls and ceiling to make a winter wonderland.

4. Christmas Cut-out Candle

A perfect gift or decoration, cut out some white vinyl into a shape of your choice and stick it around the base of a candle holder.

5. Stamped Christmas Towels

Use cookie cutters to stamp designs onto a plain white tea towel. Your choice of paint colour, of course red & green if you are getting into the Christmas spirit.

6. Winter Wonderland Shakers

A simple yet great countertop decoration, fill empty salt and pepper shakers with salt (to give off the illusion of snow) place mini bottle brush trees and reindeer figurines to create a cute winter wonderland display.

7.  Personalised Apron

Grab a plain apron, colour of your choice. Some paint that will show up nicely on the apron. Have kids, family and friends dip their hands in the pain then print onto the apron, write each person’s name under their handprint. A simple yet sentimental gift.

8. Reindeer Jars

Grab a tall glass jar, pipe cleaners, googly eyes and a few red cotton balls. Glue 2 eyes onto the glass jar as well as one red cotton ball to create Rudolf’s face! Then create antler shapes out of the pipe cleaners and wrap around the top of the jar. Lastly fill with your favourite (or the person you are gifting to) favourite treats.

9. Rustic Twig Ornaments

We all have twigs lying around in the yard, why not put them to good use? All you need are thin branches or twigs, glue gun and glue sticks, twine, sharpie and bottle brush trees. There a so many different shapes to create, once you choose your shape glue the joins and wrap twine around them. Assemble the bottle brush tree by hot glue gunning it to your chosen spot. Wrap twine to the top and it is ready to hang!

10. Mini Christmas Wreaths

These ornaments start with a simple mason jar lid. Wrap each lid ring with mini pine garland, berry stems, and add a twine loop. To finish it off, hot glue a cute little bow onto it.

Super simple, super fun DIY activities to do this Christmas to bring some Christmas cheer to you, family and friends.
